Aim: The effect of heterocyclic compound 103 on glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) enzyme purified from rats has been investigated. G6PD is a critical enzyme in the pentose phosphate pathway, playing a significant role in maintaining cellular redox balance. Modulation of this enzyme's activity could be a potential target for treating diseases related to oxidative stress.
Method: In this study, G6PD enzyme purified from rat liver tissue was used, and the effect of compound 103 on enzyme activity was examined under in vitro conditions. Enzyme activity was measured using spectrophotometric methods after applying various concentrations of compound 103.
Results: The findings revealed that compound 103 caused significant changes in G6PD enzyme activity. The results indicated that compound 103 inhibits the G6PD enzyme, and this effect is concentration-dependent.
Conclusion: This inhibitory effect suggests that compound 103 could be used in potential pharmacological applications.
